Step 1. Turn off the Enhance Pointer Precision option

  1. Press Win + S to search for Mouse Settings and run it.
  2. From the Settings window, go to Mouse, and then Additional mouse options.
  3. From the Mouse Properties window, navigate to Pointer Options tab and uncheck the Enhance Pointer Precision option.
  4. Click Apply and OK accordingly.

  2. Draw 2-3 inches (or you can use centimeter instead) straight line on the paper.
  3. Go to DPI Analyzer, set the target distance as the length you draw just now.
  4. Place the starting point of the line on paper to the Target and then move your mouse pointer there.
  5. Drag the mouse cursor from the starting point to the ending point on the paper. Read and record the Actual DPI you see on the paper.
  6. Repeat the test for several times and then calculate the average Actual DPI.

Method 3. Measure in MS Paint

Step 1. Turn off the Enhance Pointer Precision option

  1. Open MS Paint and make sure the page is zoomed at 100%.
  2. Move the cursor horizontally 2-3 inches starting from the 0-5 pixels, and record the first number in the bottom-left.
